Marmaris Sanitary Landfill, Turkey

Project Description:

The Marmaris Sanitary Landfill area covers around 24 ha. The landfill was designed in three lots with a total capacity of 1,610,000 m3 of solid waste handling until the year 2030.

The design included plans for excavation, roads, a leachate drainage system, stabilization tanks and final cover, as well as plans for an administration building, workshop, wheel washing system, fencing, landscaping and other details.

Project Description:

The main objective of this project is to achieve the environmentally sound collection, treatment and disposal of domestic waste, together with increased waste collection efficiency. During the project a new sanitary landfill will be constructed, the existing unconfined dumpsite will be rehabilitated and collection and treatment systems will be renewed.

In partnership with IGIP (Germany) and IU (Germany), TEMPO is responsible for the preparation of the final design and tender documents as well as supervising the project's implementation.

Sanitary Landfill

The total project area is 14 ha. Three lots with a total capacity of 3,144,000 m3 of solid waste are designed to meet demand until 2030. The following systems and facilities will be constructed in the sanitary landfill: sealing systems, surface water drainage, leachate collection and treatment, gas collection, access roads, administration and entrance buildings and a weighbridge.
