Istanbul Wastewater & Stormwater Collection Networks & Upgrading of Streambeds, Turkey

Project Description:

Services for the upgrading of the surface drainage culverts and streambeds in the Western Bosphorus Basin were carried out. The design included the production of detailed plans for all existing sewer and storm water collection lines in the area, based on exact measurements obtained on-site, as well as the preliminary and final design of the proposed network, including an upgrading of the streambeds of the Rumelikavağı, Sariyer and İstinye Creeks.

The project area covered 400 km of existing and 600 km of proposed sewers. Based on the final design, wastewater was collected in two separate locations and was discharged into deeper layers of the Bosphorus.

Köyceğiz/Dalyan Environment Project, Turkey

Project Description:

With financing from KfW of Germany, IGIP (Germany) and TEMPO acted as Project Manager and carried out the final project design and construction supervision. BROCHIER (Germany) and AKKAYA (Turkey) were responsible for all construction work. The final design included two advanced wastewater treatment plants, each having a capacity of 16,000 PE and an extended capacity of 32,000 PE.

Two Wastewater Treatment Plants:

The same process design was utilised for both plants. The final design included an operation and machinery building, a grit and grease chamber, anaerobic separation tanks, aerated re-circulation tanks, final clarification tanks, a septic storage tank, a sludge thickening tank, a storage tank for de-watered sludge (Dalyan), sludge drying beds (Köyceğiz) and a lime silo (Dalyan).

TEMPO carried out the construction supervision for the construction work, which included excavation works, road works, the storm water collection network, drainage works, processing units, landscape architecture as well as the installation of mechanical and electrical equipment.
