Project Description:
Marubeni, Garanti Bank and ABN Ambro provided financing for
the municipality. TEMPO was responsible for preparing the preliminary
and final designs.
Wastewater Treatment Plant:
The final design included excavation plans, road plans, plans for the
storm water collection network, drainage works, landscape architecture,
processing units and administration buildings. The plant was
designed to handle up to 920 l/sec by the year 2020 and 1,720 l/sec
by the year 2030.
The treated wastewater is discharged into the sea at a depth of
20 meters approximately 1.8 km from the shore. Sea-floor investigations
and the design for the marine disposal system of the plant were carried out.
Wastewater Collection Network
The final design included a 650 km wastewater collection network.
The network was designed in accordance with the latest zoning requirements
and construction plans for Didim. The network consisted of diameters
ranging from 300 to 1400 mm in size.
Wastewater Pump Stations
Due to the topography of the land, 15 pump stations were designed
to serve the wastewater collection network. The discharges from
the pump stations varied between 10 l/sec and 950 l/sec, with
heads ranging between 18 m and 58 m. In addition, the design included
13 km of force mains with diameters ranging between 100 mm and 800 mm.
